Who we are
Uganda is the gateway to the African wild. When British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill visited in 1907, he was mesmerized by its serene beauty. He decided this must be the Pearl of Africa. It is the Pearl indeed!
Murchison Falls, also known as Kabalega Falls was named after the great king of Bunyoro, Omukama Kabalega, from the last century. The Falls are the epitome of the Ugandan wild and your adventure starts right here – at the Bwana Tembo Safari Camp.
Bwana Tembo- Mister Elephant, or Lord Elephant in the local Swahili dialect, is named after the great African elephant that roams that part of the continent. The gentle giants were a frequent visitor at the camp’s construction and from them, the camp draws its name.
Bwana Tembo is a charming safari camp owned by an Italian family which came to Uganda in 1986. You’ll soon meet Davide and Francesco, owners and managers as you plan your trip.
